During my time in australia i decided i needed a holiday, so myself and a friend of mine decided to meet up for a short break in Beijing. I have to admit, it wasnt a place i would have thought of, but it was an extremely interesting experience. It is a city with a large tourism base, but most the tourists are from china from what i gathered, thus you dont see many people from other ethnicities making it quite a different experience to anything i had done before.

It was very hot, and to say that it was extremely humid would be an understatement! But some of the temples were magnificent, and the great wall was simply breath taking. The thing that really struck me was the difference in life style in such small area's, one moment you are looking up at an extremely modern business building only to turn the street and see the complete opposite, small more 'run down' buildings with children running around bare foot asking for the water bottles we were carrying.

Never the less, it was a fantastic but short break. Thanks to Nat for sparking the idea!
